I have been working as a software engineer (programmer / software developer) for large and small companies for more than 25 years. Today I build websites for small businesses in Spain. Ole!
My name is Robert Christiaanse and I am a web developer. I have been in the IT world for many years. I'm not a typical nerd. I like the good life, travelling, sun, sea, good food and drink, animals and good company. A lot more important and interesting to me than advanced software development methods.
I recently emigrated to Spain. I wanted to get away from the busy cold Netherlands and start working for myself. I have worked for many large (software) companies and am actually a C# .NET developer. For those who are interested, on the 'Resume' page you can view my professional life.
Since I live in Spain, I want to work for myself. I want to build websites for small businesses. In the past I have built, maintained and managed hobby competition software for darts organizations in the Netherlands (See dubbel16.nl. Sorry, the site is in Dutch). I have also built some sites for friends, see the 'Examples' page.
I don't have an extensive portfolio yet. You can help me with that! 😉
I speak Dutch, English and reasonable Spanish. Where I can't figure it out, there is always Don Google to help with translation. In practice it poses few problems.
I live in Estepona in the province of Málaga. If you live somewhere else in Spain, that doesn't have to be a problem. We can communicate with each other with a program/app such as TeamViewer, Zoom, Skype or Microsoft Teams. Do you have no experience with this? Don't worry, it works quite simply.
